Botanical Portraits

Immortalise
Your garden

Fine-art botanical photography
captures the beauty and wonder of your garden and transforms them into images that last a lifetime.

An enduring source of joy for every moment of every season.

Living art

The natural world is ephemeral by nature—that’s an essential part of what makes it so precious and why the pleasure we feel in its presence can sometimes feel so acute. But have you ever thought of preserving the fragments of beauty that you have created in your garden, with your own hands, vision and creativity? Of creating an enduring impression so that you can continue to enjoy their beauty even long after they’re gone?

Botanical Portraits are fine-art photographic prints that are unique to you, that you yourself have had a hand in creating. You are essentially a co-author of each image.

The flowers I photograph and retouch become something beyond the flower you tended in your garden. They become a presence that elevates your living space day or night, for every season. This is what botanical portraiture does.

The result is a fine-art print of something that is both universally beautiful and uniquely, irreplaceably yours.

How a commission comes to life

01

THE CONVERSATION

We discuss your garden — what you have growing there, what means most to you, the season and its particular blooms, its aspect towards the sun, and all the elements that make your garden unique. No two commissions begin the same way.

02

THE SESSION

I visit your garden in the morning or evening, or you bring cut specimens to my studio. Working in a controlled light, each element is composed and photographed with all the care of a portrait sitting.

03

THE CREATION

Images are processed with meticulous attention to detail, tones, depth of field, contrasts, the precise quality and direction of shadow and light, and so much more. Every image wants to be edited in a different way,

04

THE REVELATION

Archival fine art inks are used to create museum-quality prints, delivered with care.
